I want to build a 2nd level under my tomatoes,on a hill. Do vegies grow okay in wooden 2 by 8 borders?

The garden is on top of a hill on the south side of house.

    I have done many a raised bed using 2 x 8 borders and everything was just fine. I often had short funny looking carrots tho.

    Veggies LOVE raised beds. Make sure you don’t just fill with “top soil” though, use compost or some type of soil amendment. Keep in mind that soil in raised beds gets warmer earlier in the year and gets colder faster from unexpected frost or cold nights in the spring or fall. Happy planting!

    Yes, they will grow in an area like that. I have tomatoes growing in a box about 2 feet by 2 feet every year. Some grow in containers etc…

    People like the vegtables growing up side down info.

    May we join together the tomato/potato in holy matrimony. They are both the night shade family.

    Check out the gardeners choice ad. They have the tomato/potato. This was done by seeding the potato with a tomato seed, and letting it sprout in side the potato. When the tomato plant dies from the frost, it’s time to pull it up and get your potato’s.
