I do not care for lawn sprinklers, but I have about six flower/ shrub beds scattered throughout the lawn. All I want to do is to run solid pipes under the lawn, and use soaker hoses for each bed.
How difficult is it to run these pipes, and is there an special equipement made made for this job.
I am talking about several lenghts of 15f or so.
Thanks for your help.

You would want to rent a ‘ditch witch.’ This is the main piece of equipment than lawn irrigators use. It grabs hold of a length of pipe at the base of a blade that runs in to the ground. This blade then vibrates up and down vigorously which loosens soil, allowing the pipe to be dragged into and through the soil. You may as well use the same kind of piping that irrigators use. If I am not mistaken, it is called “dope pipe.”
You would also need a an appropriate attachment for your spigot. I don’t know specifically what that is but hopefully this info will get you started.

Why not just use rubber garden hose for your runs. Just cut a grove in your lawn, with an edging tool or flat blade shovel, and bury the stuff about 4 inches down. The only problem your going to have is blowing out the hose in the winter time. An air compressor would do the job.
