Plants that are interesting to the senses – touch, smell, color.

Try scented geraniums, mint, zinnias, lambs ears (incredibly soft – kids love to touch the leaves), and maybe some easy ones that was downright edible, like carrots. All of these are also very easy to grow, and are not bothered by pests.

Go to a local nursery, and go touch and smell the herbs – see which ones they like.
